I’ve been blogging for about 4 months now using wordpress. One great tool I have found is the Performancing for Firefox extension
Performancing for Firefox is a full featured blog editor that sits right within Firefox

Once installed, just hit F8 or click the little pencil icon at the bottom right of your browser window to bring up the blog editor and easily post to your WordPress, MovableType or Blogger blogs.
It’s amazingly easy to use, you can save code snippits as notes, ftp images to your server, select categorys and edit previous articles.
It also connects with the Performancing Metrics tool, giving you stats for your site
